此畫構圖虛實相映·陰陽交錯。左畫峻嶺深壑·幽然黯淡·是為陰;右則留白·具意空靈·是為陽。然置零於上·睥睨云云眾生· 使之超然·無念、無慾便是零。

A sublime mountain with a steep cliff situated on the left half of the picture frame sets a contrast with the other half right, which is left empty. This explains the theory of fullness and emptiness in the Chinese philosophy and implies the interaction of Yin and Yang, which nourishes all beings in the world. But beyond the existence, above the mountain, and above the earthly world, an empty mind is formed to look down at the world without any desire, which epitomizes a metaphysical status of mind.
